Comonfort

Comonfort, historically known as Chamacuero, is a Magical Town where Indigenous heritage, baroque art, Otomí cuisine, molcajetes, ceremonial tortillas and textile tradition meet. Guanajuato Tourism presents it as a place where you can sense a blend of Indigenous and colonial, expressed in religious celebrations and food.

Its identity is closely tied to craft and ritual: stone molcajetes, Otomí ceremonial tortillas, baroque altarpieces and the textile village of Soria. It is less monumental than Dolores or Salvatierra, but very strong in living culture.

Recommended: visit San Francisco de Asís, stroll Jardín 5 de Febrero and try the ceremonial tortillas.
