Privacy and cookie policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

At GoPueblos (www.gopueblos.com) we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, what it is used for and what choices you have. If you have any questions, write to us at briansanchezaguilar@gmail.com.

1. Data we collect

You do not need an account to use GoPueblos, and we never ask for your name, phone number or payment details. The information processed is:

  • Technical browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and date of the visit. It is processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) to serve and protect the site, and by Vercel Web Analytics to produce aggregated visit statistics, without cookies and without identifying you personally.
  • Preferences stored in your browser: your favorite towns, towns you marked as visited and your preferred language are saved in your own device’s local storage. They are not sent to our servers, and you can delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
  • Data you email us: if you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply.

2. Google advertising (AdSense)

GoPueblos shows Google AdSense ads. About these ads:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of other vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • Learn more about how Google uses data when you use its partners’ sites or apps.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent through a cookie notice before using cookies or data for personalized advertising. You can change your choice at any time from that same notice.

3. Maps, images and other third-party services

  • Mapbox serves the interactive map tiles; when the map loads, your browser connects to its servers and they receive your IP address.
  • Some photos are loaded from image libraries and repositories such as Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash or Pexels, and some editorial content from Sanity. These services receive technical connection data to deliver the files.
  • If you share a town on WhatsApp or another network, that platform’s privacy policy applies.

4. Affiliate links

Some links to hotels, tours and car rentals (for example Booking.com, Civitatis or Rentalcars) are affiliate links: if you book through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you click, you leave GoPueblos and the destination site may use its own cookies to record the referral. Please check each provider’s privacy policy.

5. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you do, the site will keep working, but your favorites and language will not be remembered and ads will be less relevant.

6. How we use information

  • To deliver the site and keep it secure and running.
  • To understand which sections are used most so we can improve the guide.
  • To show the ads that fund the site.
  • To answer your messages.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Your rights

Under Mexican personal data protection law, and the GDPR if you are in the European Union, you may request access to, correction or deletion of, or object to the processing of the data we hold about you, and withdraw your consent. Email your request to briansanchezaguilar@gmail.com and we will respond within the legal time limits.

8. Children

GoPueblos is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the services we use change. The new version will be posted on this page with its update date.
