A few blocks away rises the Great Pyramid of Cholula, the largest pre-Hispanic structure in the world by volume, crowned by the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Los Remedios. Cholula combines churches, talavera, Poblano cuisine, student life and nightlife, just minutes from the city of Puebla.
Recommended: tour the San Gabriel convent and Royal Chapel, walk the square and arcades, visit the Great Pyramid and its tunnels, climb to the sanctuary at sunset and take a church route to Tonantzintla and Acatepec.
