INAH and UNESCO agree that Paquimé was a key center for trade and cultural ties between the Pueblo cultures of the US Southwest and northern Mexico and Mesoamerica. Its value is exceptional because it represents neither the Maya world nor central Mexico, but the cultures of the desert and the north.
Paquimé shows earthen architecture, water systems, T-shaped doorways and a sophisticated adaptation to an arid environment. Recommended: take your time at Paquimé and visit the Museum of the Cultures of the North.
