History and Origin

The Huejotzingo Carnival has its roots in indigenous pre-Lenten festivities and was enriched with historical elements. It reenacts the Battle of Puebla and the legend of the bandit Agustín Lorenzo, who kidnapped the Mayor's daughter.

About Huejotzingo

A 16th-century Franciscan convent, the famous Huejotzingo Carnival, cider and chiles en nogada, just outside the city of Puebla.

Huejotzingo is a Magical Town in Puebla since 2023. The nearest airport is Puebla (PBC), about 4 km in a straight line.
